Hello! My name is Maddi Rihn and I am an English Language & Literature and American Studies double major at the University of Maryland. I started playing guitar in 2014, but my artistic background is primarily in visual art and writing. Though I will always love painting and illustration, as I have gotten older I find myself lacking the time, space, and energy that visual art often demands. Additionally, despite being a guitar player for almost 6 years and having played in bands before, I have never completed a music project that I could call my own. Thus, I decided to focus on songwriting for my capstone as a way to both cultivate a creative process that works for my needs and interests and to create a body of work that I can build upon in the future.
